Data Under Control: A Necessary Conversation
How has your brand reshuffled its data deck? Have you lost track of where data—and respective permissions—may reside? Are you certain that the data inside your advertising targeting and attribution are responsibly sourced and maintained? Do you know the data lineage of all the data you touch, even if it carries a first-party label? Have you fallen into the "transparency trap"? It's time to get your data under control. Listen in as two agency leaders discuss the internal and external forces at work that can breed data integrity uncertainty—and how organizations can re-take the reins through a disciplined, principled approach that protects people, the advertising ecosystem, and trust in brands.

Empirical & Powerful: A Closer Look on How Data Drives the Information Economy
The power of data in increasing advertising efficiency has only grown more pronounced during the last decade—just one attribute of many for data in our Information Economy. Join us as we review DAA and Privacy for America-commissioned research on the role of advertising, and digital data specifically, to support both the wealth and diversity of online content and competition online and off. The review emphasizes the empirical work on existing advertising practices and on regulatory initiatives that seek to throttle the use of personalized advertising through over-reaching data restrictions.

Luncheon Keynote: A Confluence of Data Flows—US, Asia & All Places
Going to bat for American business, the U.S. Department of Commerce has just marked its first anniversary of the Cross-Border Rule System for data transfers in cooperation with eight Asia Pacific Economic Community nations and with the United Kingdom joining the group this spring. We will hear from the US DOC about this initiative, among others, that recognize the vital importance of global data flows, the primacy of effective privacy protections within the United States and among our key trading partners from Asia to Europe, and how digital data, in particular, is essential in today’s Information Economy. We explore best practices and self-regulatory tools to support transparency and control for consumers within these cross-border constructs.
Lunch will be served from 12—12:45pm.

A Capitol Perspective with Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL)
In our policy spotlight, we are excited to have Representative Jan Schakowsky of Illinois 9th Congressional District join us for a candid perspective on her view of consumer privacy and enablement of data's responsible role in the Information Economy. A member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, with jurisdiction over many privacy proposals, Rep. Schawkowsky will highlight her constituents' voices on how we might shape policy affecting digital ad tech—and what priorities she sees for a successful federal regime of data oversight in our country.

Connected Devices: Advancing from Conundrum to Controls
With the complexity of tech partners involved in bringing ad-financed content to a bevy of consumer and business connected devices, there is no shortage of stakeholders to manage toward effective data stewardship including how we communicate transparency and extend and respond to control signals. We examine the industry conundrum of real-time, on-demand privacy notice and control in CTV and connected devices and opportunities to build trust with consumers. Leading stakeholders weigh in on pathways to enlightenment, across the many pathways of data flows, to find our way to better user privacy experiences.

DSA: The Game Changer in Advertising Transparency?
The EDAA has marked its 10th year of advancing self-regulation in Europe always amid a regulatory framework of the General Data Protection Regulation and its EU Data Protection Directive precursor. This year, we invite representatives from our European partners as they discuss what U.S. digital marketers need to know about the Digital Services Act—what it is, how it works, what it means for the global ecosystem, and how we're responding to it. Transparency, and much more, is the order of the day.
