Luncheon Keynote: A Confluence of Data Flows—US, Asia & All Places

Going to bat for American business, the U.S. Department of Commerce has just marked its first anniversary of the Cross-Border Rule System for data transfers in cooperation with eight Asia Pacific Economic Community nations and with the United Kingdom joining the group this spring. We will hear from the US DOC about this initiative, among others, that recognize the vital importance of global data flows, the primacy of effective privacy protections within the United States and among our key trading partners from Asia to Europe, and how digital data, in particular, is essential in today’s Information Economy. We explore best practices and self-regulatory tools to support transparency and control for consumers within these cross-border constructs.

Lunch will be served from 12—12:45pm.
